RFA 65th Anniversary 2014:
The Sixty-Five Club Turns 65
The USC Retired Faculty Association was formed in 1949 by nine members of the Men's Faculty Club
who were forced to retire at the mandatory age of 65. Not surprisingly, the organizing members
called themselves the "Sixty-Five Club." Female faculty members were admitted to full
membership in the Sixty-Five Club in the late 1950s. The name was changed to the Retired Faculty
Association in 1976 by a vote of members.
Check back from time to time to see our progress as we populate this site with photos and other
materials documenting the history of the USC Retired Faculty Association. Meanwhile, here are
links to a few items (in PDF) to whet your appetite. If you would like to read RFA newsletters
